I started this law firm on April 1, 2001. My practice is focused on traffic offenses, and criminal defense. I represent clients on charges ranging from speeding to first-degree murder. This is a very hard and competitive market for legal services. My experience is what separates me from my competition. I served in the Guilford County District Attorney's office for 24 years.

I was an assistant district attorney for 10 years and then I was elected 4 times and served 14 years as head district attorney.

I am the only person to be reelected as district attorney in this county since at least the turn of the century.

While in the district attorney's office, I handled thousands of traffic and misdemeanor cases in district court and prosecuted over 300 jury cases in Superior Court. The jury trials included charges of rape, kidnapping, armed robbery, drug trafficking, manslaughter, felony assaults, arson, child abuse and burglary. I also handled personally 12 first-degree murder cases, three of which resulted in a death sentence. I am responsible for the policies and procedures in place now in the district attorney's office, since few have changed since my retirement in April, 2001.
